Chapter 3 — About

Checkout software written down plainly.

Oltaris exists so that a business selling online can offer checkout anywhere, understand what it was charged, and see when the payment partner has paid out: the next business day.

3.1Purpose

What the platform is for.

Most businesses do not want to build a checkout; they want to be paid. Everything in between — currency display, local methods, fraud signals, tax, disputes, reconciliation — is overhead that grows with every new country. Oltaris takes that overhead on as a single, documented piece of software: one connection, one dashboard, one platform rate, one view of every payout. The money itself is processed and settled by regulated payment partners.

We describe the software the way a manual describes a machine. Each function is numbered, each number has one sentence, and the platform rate is printed where anyone can read it. If a claim cannot be written that plainly, it does not appear on this site.

3.2Direction

Where it is going.

The direction is the same as the purpose, carried further: more countries at checkout, more local methods offered, more of the work between a sale and a payout recorded automatically and reported in real time. Growth in reach must never cost clarity: the platform rate stays published, the payout made by the payment partner stays next-business-day, and the reply to an email stays within 24 hours.

3.3Supplied functions

What is supplied.

The six functions below are described in full in chapter 1, with the sectional view in Fig. 2. See the parts list.

  1. 1

Multi-currency checkout. The customer pays in their own currency at checkout. Conversion and settlement in your currency are performed by the payment partner; Oltaris shows both amounts side by side.

  2. 2

Fraud screening. Machine-learning models score each transaction as it arrives and flag suspicious ones before an authorisation is requested from the payment partner.

  3. 3

Tax calculation. VAT, GST and sales tax computed per transaction across 45+ jurisdictions, with rates maintained for you.

  4. 4

Live reporting. Revenue, conversion, geography and trend figures refreshed in real time and exportable from the dashboard.

  5. 5

Dispute tracking. Chargebacks raised through the payment partner are collected, answered and tracked in one place, with warning signals shown before a dispute is filed.

  6. 6

Payout statements. Payouts are made by the payment partner the next business day by default, on the schedule it offers; Oltaris records every transfer with its statement.

3.4Scope
